Bob was born in Moose Jaw, Sask., lived in Toronto for many years, and then
moved to B.C. to join his mother and father. Bob constantly expressed
gratitude for the wonderful surroundings of the Bayside community in White
Rock. Sadly, his father passed away there from cancer in 1998.
Though Bob lived the last twenty years of his life in severe pain, with the
arthritic disease known as Ankylosing Spondylitis, he never complained. Bob was
a hero and an inspiration to so many. He will always be remembered for his
strength to love even through pain, to freely give joy, to be forever the
optimist and consummate wit.
His last days were spent sharing goodbyes. He knew he was leaving and was able
to pour out love to so many friends and family and caregivers. His wish, to
pass on in peace at home, surrounded by the care of family and friends, was
granted. Bob is happy and exactly where he wants to be. He is free. Our lives
were enriched by this wonderful human being. He will be dearly missed, yet
forever celebrated.
He is survived by his mother, Steffi, who was truly the love of his life, and
who was a tireless, supportive team-mate every day. He is also survived by his
sister, Jennifer (Kala) Kos, who left Hawaii in 2001 to care for her mother and
brother, and who felt honored and privileged to give that service of love. He
is also survived by his two half-brothers, Ivan ( wife Joanne and children,
Krasna, Vesna, Brawni and Tiki) and Steve Kos, as well as his uncle, Vlado
Puragar (wife Bonnie and children, Alisa and Bret.)
The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude and appreciation to the
beloved caregivers, who Bob adored, especially those who were with him in the
last months.
By a serendipitous set of circumstances, Bob's cremation occurred on
Valentine's Day, and it is certainly symbolic of the love he shared with
everyone. A celebration of Bob's life was held at Victory Memorial Center,
Surrey, on Saturday, Feb 17, 2007 at 10 am. His remains will be interred with
his father, as he requested, at Victory Memorial Park on Feb 19th at noon.
Please feel free to leave your thoughts and condolences as they
are greatly appreciated by all. Your message will be publicly posted online
after received by email. I am taking a few days off for a much needed rest. My
webmaster will post your condolences to this website and forward them to me.
